Top 5 THINGS TO SEE AND DO IN LOS ANGELES

Los Angeles is the largest metropolis in California and the second-largest city in the United States. It is a huge metropolis teeming with movie stars, aspiring actors, musicians, surfers, and plenty of traffic.

It takes some getting used to in Los Angeles. Most people have mixed feelings towards the city. When I initially arrived in Los Angeles, I despised it. The city was too large, vacuous, and pricey.

But the more I came here, the more I realised that this isn't a city for tourists - it's a city for locals. With only a few tourist attractions, this is a city where you may enjoy life by eating, drinking, going to the beach, running, and seeing a concert. It's a living city.

And, once you remove the strain of trying to put Los Angeles into the tourist box, you can see the city's magic. Come here to unwind, eat, listen to music, go for a walk and simply enjoy the small space you find yourself in.

This Los Angeles travel guide can help you plan your trip, save money, and make the most of your time in this historic city!

Top 5 Things to See and Do in Los Angeles

1. Visit Disneyland for the day.
Anaheim's "Happiest Place on Earth" is close. I enjoy the rides, such as the Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain, and feeling like a kid. Don't miss the new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, which includes the popular Rise of the Resistance ride (which is well worth the ticket). Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, and Indiana Jones' Adventure are among popular rides.
 2. Take a look at Hollywood Boulevard.
Hollywood Boulevard recently underwent urban redevelopment and renovation. Visit the Walk of Fame (which has over 2,700 celebrity handprints and footprints), Grauman's Chinese Theatre (now known as TCL Chinese Theatre, which has one of the largest movie screens in the country), and much more. You can also take a sightseeing bus to see where the wealthy and famous live and work.

3. Visit the Getty Museum.

The Getty Museum is wonderful for four reasons: its impressive art collection, its stunning Richard Meier design, its ever-changing grounds, and the city views. The museum, which opened in 1997, concentrates on pre-20th-century European art as well as 19th- and 20th-century American and European pictures. It includes works by Van Gogh, Gauguin, and other greats. Visiting here was one of the highlights of my time in Los Angeles. It is free to attend, however you must pay to park ($20 USD). Mondays are off limits.

4. Visit Griffith Park

This location is ideal for hiking, picnics, and socialising with friends. The hiking trails that lead up to Mulholland Drive offer spectacular views of the city. Griffith Park features a zoo, the Autry Western Museum, pony rides, a golf course, a driving range, and an observatory. Consider it similar to New York City's Central Park, but much larger (it spans 4,310 acres versus Central Park's 843 acres) and more rough. Mountain lions, rattlesnakes, and coyotes are among the animals that can be found here. If you want to go with a group, guided hikes are also available.

5. Unwind at Venice Beach

Aside from the sand and waves, Venice Beach is known for its street performers, surfers, skaters, and furious basketball games (some of the world's top streetball players can be found here). Wander around, admire the street art and dine and drink at the various eateries that line the shore. If you're going to the beach, avoid going on weekends because it gets crowded.
